So excited that fundraising single “This Fine City” was released on Friday ~ a heartfelt, anthemic celebration of #Norwich that I have written especially for Future Radio featuring a whole host of talented friends and musicians: Ecky Limon from the Blue Joanna (name checked in the song!), Scott Mathieson, Andrew Todd (amazing production!), Owen Sennitt, Yve Mary B, Callum Morgan from Morganway, Chad Mason, Hannah White, Russell McNamara and Teresa Gibbon.
Thanks so much to all the talented friends and artists – including many Future volunteers – who were a part of this very special project. Huge thanks of course to all the hard working team at Future Radio.
Please listen, donate and share the Bandcamp link below – all funds raised from the single will help Future to relocate to a new home – let’s help them find a new studio!

So lovely that the song has already touched people and really resonated. Here’s a beautiful review from Richard Shashamane for his Norwich: Music City, UK Blog:

Immediately upon my first listening to this rousing celebration of Norwich and hope for the future I felt renewed optimism as well as being quite moved by the heartfelt love of the city so sincerely expressed in song. Joyous and triumphant in its hope.

Video for New Christmas Single, Filming for BBC Look East

Really excited to share the brand new music video to my new single ‘When Christmas Comes Around’ which is out now. Thank you so much to French fan David Sk for creating this lovely festive video, which features my two homes Norwich and New York City, and thanks so much for watching and sharing.

“expertly performed..is a fine addition to the canon of Christmas songs” Thanks so much to Stephpar for featuring and reviewing my Christmas single at Song A Day. Such kind words. The song has just received airplay on BBC Suffolk and many other shows.

Just had a great time filming at the BBC, playing guitar for Breeze on a special acoustic festive cover. You’ll be able to see the performance on the 22nd December just before The One Show on BBC Look East and West at around 6.50pm. It was lovely being in the very festive BBC Introducing studio and thanks so much to Look East for having us.

Recording! Clips from the studio. Latest Columns, New Christmas Song Video

It’s been a really productive time this past month as I’ve been in the studio recording some songs which I can’t wait to share with you! I’ve recorded a few songs with Jose McGill who is the singer and guitarist of renowned band The Vagaband and he has been adding some lovely subtle instrumentation. Noel Dashwood, who recently performed with me at OPEN when we supported Eliza Carthy, has also contributed his wonderful dobro as well as ukulele, harmonies and harmonica. The mixes are already sounded great and I’ve posted some little video clips from the studio on my Instagram

Live Video from NYC Radio Session ~ Brand New Song ‘Dreaming in Crowds’

Check out this live video from a session on NY Radio Show, brand new song ‘Dreaming in Crowds’. Also just had a GREAT 2 days’ recording in Brooklyn adding cello, double bass, brushes, percussion, keyboards and piano. I’ve now finished 4 new songs with the incredibly talented Jeff Hill. Jeff has worked with two of my favourite songwriters Neal Casal and Teddy Thompson and is in one of my favourite bands Hazy Malaze. He has also worked with Rufus Wainwright, Regina Spektor and is also currently recording Erin Mckeown. As well as my acoustic style, we have added some cello, double bass, brushes, percussion, keyboards and beautiful piano.  As mentioned before, I have also recorded some new songs with the equally talented drummer and dear friend Dan Fadel, also in Hazy Malaze. I’m so excited about these new songs and can’t wait to share them with you!
