Singing for Wellbeing and Beginner Guitar and Ukulele Courses at Wensum Lodge, Norwich
“Really enjoyed the course..got a lot further than any previous attempt” “thank you so much for your encouragement and spirit!” I received such lovely feedback for my first beginner ukulele and guitar courses in the summer. I’m very excited to be also running a Ukulele for Improvers course.
I would really love to see some new students – further details here search for arts and crafts
A lovely testimonial from one of the students on the ‘Ukulele for Beginners’ course:
“I joined the ‘Ukulele for Beginners’ course in April after meeting Lisa through the community singing sessions she led at the Forum. She mentioned the upcoming course and, on my way home that day, I spotted a ukulele in a charity shop window. It was fate.
I had had a particularly difficult time during lockdown suffering a bereavement, and the course was the boost I needed. The ukulele is by nature, a happy instrument and every time I play it, my mood is lifted.
The course gave me a focus and provided a challenge, especially important now that I’m retired. I enjoyed each session for the social interaction with others, much needed after the feeling of isolation so many of us have experienced through the pandemic.
Lisa is a great teacher, talented, knowledgeable, patient and understanding with an enthusiasm that is both infectious and life-affirming.
Her lessons are well structured and fun. We learnt to play well known, popular songs from the very simple in week one to the more complicated as we progressed through the course. Lisa made sure we revisited the songs we’d learned to play to build confidence, whilst introducing a new song and chords each week. We were encouraged to practise between sessions and I feel I made good progress considering that I truly was an absolute beginner.
I would thoroughly recommend joining the course in September. I found my experience of Lisa’s ukulele course to be enjoyable and rewarding. It gave me a sense of achievement, as well benefitting my mental well-being through the uplifting effect of music and song in the company of others.” Helen Last, 2022

In 2015 one of my talented students, Breeze Redwine, won the Pre-Teen Award at TeenStar, the UK’s biggest search for teenage and pre-teen singers at Birmingham’s NEC. She also achieved the highest score of the night from the prestigious industry judges and beautifully performed my song ‘Here Alone’
In 2016 she released her debut single called ‘Courage’ which I wrote especially for her.
In 2016 she also won many awards at the World Championships of Performing Arts, an international performing arts talent competition and educational experience held annually in Hollywood. Among her many achievements, Breeze won 4 Golds, 2 Silvers and Overall Champion twice. She also won an Industry Award, meaning she is most likely to make it in the music industry.
In May 2018 Breeze also added another award to her growing list of achievements – winning Best Original Artist at The Youngstars South East Entertainment Awards.
Another original song “Trust” had a special video filmed for Norfolk Day and was also selected as BBC Introducing Track of the Week at BBC Radio Norfolk.

Testimonials
“Lisa was charismatic and friendly. She pointed out how I could progress and gave me freedom to choose my own songs and adapted her approach to my choices.” Chloe Thomas 2021
Fred Luppi (7 years old)
“Fred immensely enjoys his guitar lessons and the exercises/songs that Lisa picks and provides for him. Lisa is extremely helpful with additional advice, flexible with dates/times, and goes at a good pace, enabling Fred to progress really well, especially with his fingerpicking and melodies. Fred has benefitted remarkably from his one-to-one lessons, and very much enjoys learning online in the comfort of his own home.” Grace Luppi 2021
“I bought a ukulele during the first lockdown, as I wanted a distraction from my hospital job. Having seen Lisa’s poster in the neighbourhood, I started Zoom lessons with her. Lisa is such a positive and bright person, and always makes me feel enthusiastic about playing ukulele. She always selects the perfect songs for me to learn, so that I am challenged to grow and improve whilst not overfacing myself. Lisa has been really flexible in making sure the time and lengths of the sessions suit me. I look forward to her humour and encouragement in my lesson each week, and I am steadily improving and enjoying the ukulele.” Vicki Aiken 2021
2021 Interview with Vanilla Magazine about my online music lessons here
“Lisa has been an amazing vocal coach to my daughter Breeze. She has been having lessons for over 2 years and worked wonders with Breeze’s confidence, performance, breath control and vocal ability. She’s guided her through difficult songs and different styles while being constantly supportive and encouraging as well as regularly sending exercises and backing tracks. She has provided invaluable guidance and support for when Breeze has had major auditions in London and across the UK and Breeze recently won the Pre Teen Award at the prestigious national Teen Star competition at Birmingham’s NEC. Lisa has also been teaching Breeze guitar and she is already on her way to playing lots of songs. Thank you Lisa. We couldn’t have done it without you.”
Jackie Redwine
“Lisa has patiently been teaching me guitar for nearly four years, both electric and acoustic. She is calm, funny, friendly and very talented. My lessons are tailored to me, at my pace, at my level and to suit me. Times of lessons vary to suit me as my work schedule is varied; she is flexible. I thoroughly enjoy the lessons. The music we play is to my taste – she knows what I do not like! I learn something new every lesson.
Whatever your age, ability or music destination, Lisa is a patient, fun and musically gifted teacher. She is also based near Unthank Road in Norwich, which, for me is great.”
Rachel Lunness (age 51)
“As others have said, Lisa has a really patient and flexible approach to teaching. We had been meeting regularly at her home for ukulele lessons and then I moved! Now, we have lessons via Facetime and that really works for me. I’ve been able to continue learning without having to leave my sofa! But no, it’s really nice to have the consistency. I like Lisa’s bespoke take on content and she always makes sure to send any lesson material via email, ahead of time. She’s full of ideas and has a great ‘can do’ attitude. Lessons with Lisa are always really enjoyable!” Heidi Secker
“Since having singing lessons with Lisa, I’ve noticed dramatic changes in my voice, for example I always used to sing from my throat and I’d run out of breath very, very quickly. Lisa has sent me vocal exercises and backing tracks to practise at home, which I find very useful in preparation for the next lesson. It’s a great hobby, and it’s something that I look forward to doing each fortnight, which is quite funny because I actually have a singing phobia, but Lisa’s teaching style puts me at ease. Ann Marie Harrison
“Lisa has really helped me with my vocals and given me so much more confidence with my singing. She has shown me some great vocal techniques which have really improved my singing.” Kate Yuill
“Before I started having singing sessions with Lisa, I didn’t feel confident anymore at my ability to sing. Since having the sessions with Lisa, she has helped me to gain my confidence back, she is friendly and approachable. She has shown me how to strengthen my breathing skills and support my core vocal ability and head voice. Sharing her vocal warm ups and techniques to attempt some challenging songs…Lisa is helping me to prepare for a big audition and thanks to Lisa the song I have chosen is broadening my vocal ability to a higher standard, Lisa is being patient and providing me with some really supportive feedback to progress further.” Rachael Francis
“My 10 year old daughter, Saskia, has been having guitar and singing lessons with Lisa. Within weeks of starting she went from not being able to play a thing to singing and playing many of her favourite songs. Since then she has gone from strength to strength. Lisa has been a real inspiration to Saskia. She knows how to connect with children. She’s vibrant and fun but at the same time nurturing and attentive. It’s a real pleasure to hear my daughter perform. Thanks Lisa.” Kerry Williams
“I have been attending vocal lessons with Lisa for about a year now, as a student at Access To Music I was looking for some extra support with my vocals. Lisa is honest, patient and understanding of my vocal needs. I have learnt what my voice is capable of, breathing technique’s and warm up exercise’s. All of these contribute to my new found confidence with regards to my singing. I would highly recommend Lisa for all your vocal needs.” Karl Moore
