Happy New Year! Wishing you all a very happy, healthy and productive 2024.
“A fine voice from a fine city!” Such an exciting start to the year – I have a lovely in-depth interview/feature in the new January issue of Suffolk Norfolk Life magazine. Available in WH Smith, local shops, from their website or call 01728 622030 to buy a copy for £3.50 (plus postage).
It was really nice to speak to John Kerrison about my music career, songwriting, private teaching, music courses & well-being sessions for Adult Learning, as well as my work as a supporting artist in some Norfolk and Suffolk films and TV shows.
Do you know anyone who would like to learn to play guitar or ukulele in 2024? Or have you always wanted to learn how to sing? I am running one-to-one and small group lessons in Norwich NR2 at the beautiful Christ Church. Fun sessions tailored just for you with flexible times. A safe and welcoming space, no previous experience needed! Please contact me at parrotrecords@gmail.com
Wow, my PledgeMusic goal has been reached! I’m so grateful for the support – it really does mean such a lot. I had initially been nervous to embark on my very first PledgeMusic crowdfunding project but the continued support and enthusiasm has surpassed all expectations.I have also just received the mastered tracks from the brilliant Crunch Recording Studio and can’t wait to share the songs with you soon!In the meantime, if you visit my SoundCloud page you can hear a live acoustic cover of Jason Isbell’s lovely song “Maybe It’s Time” from “A Star is Born”. So cool that it has already had over 2,000 listens! Also at my Soundcloud are rare tracks, other covers of favourite songs, my Christmas EP and free downloads:
I had a lovely night performing a short acoustic set at one of my favourite venues, Norwich Arts Centre opening for Morganway. Here’s a little video clip from the night.

“Another powerful finely honed vocalist was a feature of the support in the form of Lisa Redford whose consistently polished material surely merits wider attention…her song structures, guitar pattern and vocal style recalled Patty Griffin.” Wow! compared to Patty Griffin! huge thanks to Americana UK for this lovely review of my live acoustic set at The Green Note in London.
Now that the festive season is in full swing it’s been lovely to receive airplay for one of my original Christmas songs “When Christmas Comes Around.” Huge thanks to BBC Radio Norfolk for playing it as part of Conrad’s Christmas Carols on the breakfast show. You can hear an interview and the song via the BBC Sounds app approximately 24 minutes in and also here on the BBC website: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p06r43h8 Thanks also to Future Radio for play listing the song.

Excited to play 2 festivals last weekend. First up was the lovely boutique music and poetry festival Gypsy In The Field which was absolutely lovely with a great friendly vibe. Then on Sunday it was Homegrown Music Festival, a great new festival supporting talented artists in the Eastern region. Again, everyone was so welcoming and up for a fun time. Roll on next summer!
Rocking the main stage at Gypsy (above) and on the acoustic stage for Homegrown (below).
Here’s a new interview I did to promote the Homegrown Music Festival. Talking about Bob Harris, New York and more. Big thanks to InSuffolk
