Interview in this month’s VoluME Magazine

Happy May everyone!

Always love this time of year and been keeping very busy and creative here in Manhattan. Been to some some really cool and inspiring music and film events including the launch of the Tribeca Film Festival which debuted the new Cameron Crowe documentary film ‘The Union’ (this was then followed by a live solo appearance by Sir Elton John himself who started the set with two perennial favourites and classics ‘Tiny Dancer’ and a song I’ve been to known to perform ‘Rocket Man’). Also saw The Swell Season Movie and was moved all over again by the heartfelt and passionate music of Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglov.

Last night was at a taping of VH1’s ‘Storytellers’ with Ray LaMontagne. Amazing sound, great band and highlights included a really cool version of one of my favourite Neil Young’s classics ‘Out on the weekend’. There’s just so much to inspire you here!

More news and videos to come, in the meantime check out a cool interview and feature in the May edition of ‘VoluME’ magazine all about live album ‘Lisa Redford Live’. Direct link is here

Paris, New York, Electric Guitars and Singing with Eve Selis

‘Woke up it was a Chelsea morning and the first thing that I saw..
Was the sun through yellow curtains, and a rainbow on the wall..’

Hey everyone from Chelsea, NY!
Back here in my US base after a busy March. Paris shows were so much fun and I also did my first ever gig playing electric! (picture above).
I also did a lovely radio session for Brooklands Radio where I played 3 songs live and chose some of my musical inspirations. Plus I received more orders for the signed live CD. Thanks so much!!
The highlight was playing a lovely show at  St John’s Church in Farncombe, Surrey where I was also invited to sing with the amazing US artist Eve Selis. I have played a few shows in the past with Eve and she is such a terrific and inspiring performer. It was an honour to sing 2 songs with her, the beautiful lilting traditional song ‘Wild Mountain Thyme’ and the incredible ‘Hallelujah’

Paris and New Videos!
Had a wonderful time in sunny Paris. Photos are at my facebook page
Here is ‘Love you Anyway’ from Cafe L’E’tabli

I also had so much fun singing harmonies with my talented singer/songwriter friend Elsa Siugo. We did cool live versions of the wonderful Ryan Adams songs ‘When the Stars go blue’ and ‘Oh my Sweet Carolina’ ~ videos to come at the youtube channel
