The mug has gone! there are many other goodies still available including a mouse mat, set of concert posters, signed set lists and my back catalogue. Take a look here:
Looking forward to some lovely gigs including Norwich Arts Centre on November 30th opening for the brilliant Morganway and making my debut at the award-winning Green Note in Camden as special guest for No Coward Soul on December 4th. Stepping up to the microphone! Great session at excellent local community radio station Future Radio in Norwich learning the studio techniques for hosting a music show.
Had a great weekend at Ramblin’ Roots Revue, an excellent Americana roots music festival at Bucks Student Union. Saw so much amazing live music including storming sets by Danny and the Champions, Robert Vincent, The Magic Numbers and a fun Tom Petty tribute. It was also lovely to meet Romeo Stodart of The Magic Numbers before their headline set.
Had fun performing on the Earbelly Music acoustic stage and it was lovely to be joined again by Alan Cook on pedal steel and dobro – Alan recently joined me for my Whispering Bob TV Under the Apple Tree session – and we also recorded a live session for Medicine Music, video on their YouTube channel soon.
It’s been a busy few days! Had a wonderful night performing at Norwich Waterfront Studio opening for Sarah Darling. It was exciting to perform two brand new songs and lovely to have the brilliant Noel Dashwood joining me on exceptional dobro and harmony vocals.
New song “I Just Can’t Forget”
Rehearsing new song “Anything But Easy” before the show:
Sarah sounded absolutely sublime and it was a joy to support her.
“With dobro player Noel by her side, she opened up the evening with a great array of original songs which she has written over her substantial career as a musician.
It was easy to be drawn in by her elegant and classy deliverance” Huge thanks to the EDP Newspaper for this great review.
“Lisa performs numbers from her recent Another Place and Time EP, several brand new songs, and also one of my favourites, Carolina Rain from the earlier Slipstream album. Lisa has always moved seamlessly between the worlds of country and folk, but tonight’s set understandably steers more towards the former, and provides a great opener to tonight’s show.” And thanks also to Outline Magazine for their kind words.
Prior to the show I was interviewed by Fatea Magazine about songwriting, favourite artists and my career. Huge thanks to Nic Rigby.
The following day I had a lovely afternoon recording my second Under the Apple Tree session for Whispering Bob TV. It’s always special catching up with Bob Harris and for this session it was so nice to be reunited with pedal steel player Alan Cook who played on my second album “Lost Again”.
Bob Harris and I between two pedal steel greats! Chris Hillman and Alan Cook.
Had a wonderful gig this week as part of A Night In Nashville supporting three wonderful Nashville based songwriters Sarah Darling, Jenn Bostic and Michael Logen. I was joined by the brilliant dobro player Noel Dashwood who features on the latest EP. The artists were so warm and inspiring and their version of ‘Jolene’ is a real goosebumps moment.
Thanks to Norwich Music Blog by Richard Shashamané for the lovely photos and great review:
Lisa played a lovely set of Americana flavoured songs with stories of “what might have been” gently and sensitively accompanied by Noel. The storytelling of the songs and Lisa’s pure and emotive voice was a real pleasure to listen to.

Videos
“Stylistically drawing upon Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris and Neil Young, her song ‘Dragonfly’ was without doubt the star of the show.” Thanks so much to Grapevine Live for this lovely live review of my set at FolkEast
I’ve uploaded more live videos from my lovely time playing Folk East and here’s a little highlights video from playing some lovely summer festivals.
‘Live Your Life’
Clip of a favourite Neil Young song ‘Comes a Time’
I’ve also been busy writing my music columns, previewing and reviewing lots of great gigs and festivals. My September and October columns featured Folk East, Boo Hewerdine, Beth Orton, Hatful of Rain, Uke East festival and Sound and Vision.
Also my article on great duets is in the Autumn issue of Songwriting Magazine. Tons of cool interviews and features including Dolly Parton, John Newman, The Divine Comedy, Nirvana’s ‘Nevermind’ and more.
It’s been a really productive time this past month as I’ve been in the studio recording some songs which I can’t wait to share with you! I’ve recorded a few songs with Jose McGill who is the singer and guitarist of renowned band The Vagaband and he has been adding some lovely subtle instrumentation. Noel Dashwood, who recently performed with me at OPEN when we supported Eliza Carthy, has also contributed his wonderful dobro as well as ukulele, harmonies and harmonica. The mixes are already sounded great and I’ve posted some little video clips from the studio on my Instagram
Also I’ve been writing my music column for the Evening News. All my music activities plus previewing great gigs and live music.
It’s that time again! My Christmas single ‘St Benedict’s Christmas Fair’ is available on iTunes and Bandcamp ~ here’s a new live video, performing the song unplugged.
Had a great gig supporting Eliza Carthy at OPEN Norwich. It was lovely to be joined for the first time on stage by amazing musician Noel Dashwood. The lovely sound of the dobro is something that really adds to the songs.
Here’s us warming up backstage playing ‘Music and the Mountains’:
And on stage performing ‘Carolina Rain’. More videos will be added to the YouTube Channel
Meeting Eliza after the show, such infectious energy and inspiring musicianship in her Wayward Band, try and catch them on this UK tour!
