So excited to share this – my Under The Apple Tree session for Whispering Bob TV. Performing original song “I Just Can’t Forget” with the brilliant Alan Cook on pedal steel. Huge thanks to Miles Myerscough-Harris and Bob Harris – always lovely seeing them.

The track is also being featured on this week’s #UTAT radio on Chris Country amongst some great artists and live performances including The Magic Numbers and CC Smugglers.

Huge thanks also to Belles and Gals – huge supporters of female artists – for the kind words and making the track their Song of the Day.

Huge congratulations to my amazing student Breeze Redwine– winner of Best Original Artist at this year’s Youngstars The South East Entertainment Awards So well deserved! Also a brilliant acoustic performance by Breeze for Sonic Youths at Norwich Arts Centre So great that they give young artists a platform.

Very excited that I’ll be supporting the wonderful Nashville singer songwriter Sarah Darling at The Waterfront Studio on March 15th as part of her first UK headline tour. Having supported her last year on the A Night in Nashville tour I know it’s going to be an amazing show.

Photos below are from another great time at this year’s AmericanaFest conference and awards which I was covering for iSing Magazine. The Awards, hosted by Bob Harris, were full of wonderful performances including Lifetime Achievement winner Robert Plant and Trailblazer recipients Mumford and Sons.

Had a great time playing two successive lovely Americana nights. I performed at Grapevine for Music at The Guildhall, who host regular showcases of great folk and country artists, and then on the following night supported I support the excellent duo, The Worry Dolls at OPEN, fresh from their recent AMA UK Award nomination. Also playing were the fabulous Morganway doing a special stripped down set.

“An easy and engaging manner between songs and wonderfully evocative, melancholic, wistful stories within them.” Thanks so much Richard Shashamané for this great review in his excellent Norwich music blog here. Superb photos too as always.

Full video of Lucinda Williams cover “Still I Long For Your Kiss” performed at OPEN. Love singing this great song:

Thanks to Connor Bannon for this cool photo from The Guildhall show:

Following on from my recent Future Radio People’s Playlist show, where I played and talked about my favourite songs, I’m really looking forward to being the Tuesday Guest on BBC Radio Norfolk next Tuesday, 21st November between 6-7pm. I’ll be chatting to Matthew Gudgin about my career journey and all-time favourite music. Just going to be hard to whittle down my choices to only 6 favourite songs! The show link is here

Two new live videos from my recent show supporting Tom McRae. “Live Your Life” from this year’s beautiful charity compilation “Postcards for Peace”:

Ryan Adams at Rough Trade, AMA UK Conference and Awards

It’s been really cool to start the year enjoying some exceptional music. I was lucky to be among an intimate crowd getting to see Ryan Adams preview brand new material from his upcoming album ‘Prisoner’ at Rough Trade East. His new songs are amazing and I love single ‘To Be Without You’ so much I’ve recorded an acoustic cover of it:

Also in my music columnist role I’ve had a fun couple of days enjoying the AMA UK Conference and Awards. Met so many wonderful people all celebrating Americana music. The conference had some great panels and a fascinating conversation between Bob Harris and wonderful songwriter Mary Chapin Carpenter.
