Women in music and country music feature in my new column for Songwriting Magazine, a review of the recent Amplify Introducing event by the BBC. Includes an interview with the one and only Bob Harris here after he hosted a panel on UK country with advice for aspiring country artists.

Another new article is my music column for All Things Norfolk.which includes another music conference, Norwich Sound and Vision, features an In Conversation with Dave Rowntree of blur.

Writing about a beautiful Ryan Adams song, “Oh My Sweet Carolina” with Emmylou Harris, in this cool regular feature for country music blog Belles and Gals.

This weekend had a lovely gig supporting outstanding songwriter Tom McRae on the last date of his tour at The John Peel Centre in Stowmarket. Thanks so much to Tom for having me play and all the kind words from the audience.

Thanks also to Stephen Foster for having me as this weeks live session guest on BBC Radio Suffolk. There was a live acoustic track every evening and also an interview.

Reepham Festival Videos

Had a lovely time performing two acoustic sets at Reepham Festival. Such a lovely friendly festival. On Saturday I performed in the Church and was accompanied by Jonathan Threadwell on electric guitar. I wrote about my first time playing at this lovely festival and all my other recent music news in my latest column for All Things Norfolk.

On Sunday I performed at the historic Whitwell station.

Next gig is this special celebration of Breeze Redwine’s debut EP ‘Trust’ which has been earning airplay on BBC Introducing:

A Night In Nashville

Had a wonderful gig this week as part of A Night In Nashville supporting three wonderful Nashville based songwriters Sarah Darling, Jenn Bostic and Michael Logen. I was joined by the brilliant dobro player Noel Dashwood who features on the latest EP. The artists were so warm and inspiring and their version of ‘Jolene’ is a real goosebumps moment.

Lisa played a lovely set of Americana flavoured songs with stories of “what might have been”  gently and sensitively accompanied by Noel.  The storytelling of the songs and Lisa’s pure and emotive voice was a real pleasure to listen to.

BBC Introducing, Folk East

August has been a busy month. Was at BBC Introducing with Breeze as she was interviewed about all her exciting achievements in LA and . We had a great time on the show and the guys made Breeze feel very welcome. Listen again to the interview here

I also had a lovely time playing VW Whitenoise festival and Folk East where I was joined by Noel Dashwood. It’s such a lovely festival with so much creativity going on and some much to do. Thanks to the SoapBox stage for having me and I’ve uploaded many videos to my YouTube channel.

Had a great gig supporting Eliza Carthy at OPEN Norwich. It was lovely to be joined for the first time on stage by amazing musician Noel Dashwood. The lovely sound of the dobro is something that really adds to the songs.

Really exciting news! Huge congrats to one of my vocal students Breeze for winning her category in national competition TeenStar! Pre Teen winner 2015! She performed my song ‘Here Alone’ at Birmingham’s NEC and earned the highest marks from the music industry judges – so proud!
